Roslyn sets out to capture the intimate beauty of nature that reveals for her the personal interest that God has in all of us. The beauty of His wonderful creation is seen, not only in the majestic views of mountains, rivers and seas, but also in the little glimpses of nature that show the unexpected or the unusual: worker's boots lying discarded near a door; flowers glowing in the sun or boats rocking gently on the water. She revels in the opportunity to look as well as see.
Roslyn's goal is to open the eyes of viewers of her work to the endless variety of possibilities for enjoyment in our surroundings - whether it be the city or country areas where we live, in our own backyards or places that we visit.
For Roslyn, watercolours, with their light and bright transparency, best express the glow of innocence and freshness trapped in the common, often forgotten pieces of the world. She does this by presenting the 'ordinary' in interesting ways to stimulate the senses of her audience.
“I believe that art has a divine source and lives in the hearts of all men who have been touched by the heavenly light. Once having tasted the delights of great art , one is inescapably and forever dedicated to it”
Paul Gauguin 1848-1903
